The first is Visual Storytelling: A workshop with Jason Houston at Sheep Ranch. I met Jason, who is the Photo Editor for Orion Magazine, at PhotoLucida last year. He wasn’t someone that I had intended to meet, but it happened that he had a free time slot and I took it. He has a very good eye which you would expect seeing so many images at Orion. He’s a photographer himself, and a good one at that, so I ended up valuing what he said about my images although I never felt it would necessarily be a good fit with his magazine. He was respectful, courteous, and seemed to be an all around nice person. This could be a great opportunity to learn from a very well rounded instructor.
The second is Angel Island Photography Workshop with Robert Dawson. I don’t know Mr. Dawson so I can’t comment too much on this. I’ll just make you aware of it and let you take it from there…
SF Photo Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and appreciating photography. Their many lectures have always looked great to me, and the one that I was able to see was extremely educational and inspiring…
